MGM College holds second PTA meet to boost student growth

MGM College held its second Parent Teacher Association meeting of the academic year on 23 August at the college auditorium, bringing together faculty, parents and student representatives to review progress and discuss future plans for student success.

The session was chaired by PTA president Mrs Thungbeni and attended by Principal Dr R K Behera, Administrator Fr George, faculty members, as well as a large number of parents and students. General Secretary Benjamin delivered the welcome address, stressing the importance of unity between teachers and parents in shaping student development.

Dr Behera presented a detailed report on the institution’s achievements, highlighting both academic progress and extracurricular milestones, alongside forthcoming initiatives to further enhance learning. Fr George underlined the role of discipline and academic consistency, noting that collective effort from parents, teachers and students remains vital in striving for excellence.

Faculty members spoke on classroom engagement, performance monitoring and mentorship programmes, while parents actively participated by sharing constructive suggestions and concerns regarding curriculum load, examination schedules and infrastructure needs. A key focus of the discussions centred on improving quality education and strengthening student discipline.

The PTA also reviewed the resolutions from its first meeting, acknowledging the progress achieved while approving new measures to expand student support services.

Concluding the event, Mrs Thungbeni expressed gratitude to all who contributed and reaffirmed the association’s commitment to working closely with faculty and administration to ensure the holistic growth of students.
